Bengal

Bengals WR Andrej Iosivas emerges on Cincinnati’s depth chart as a reliable receiver. He feels his previous use as a red zone target was “an anomaly” and considers himself a versatile receiver.

“I think the red zone thing was just kind of an anomaly. Everyone loves to score touchdowns, but that just happened to be what I did. I think at the beginning of my career I will be versatile all over the field. I’m open to everything. So it’s just where the ball finds me,’ said Iosivas, via Geoff Hobson of the team site.

Iosivas now described his role Tee Higgins has returned and says he will get goals if he has the right fit and his primary focus is to expand the field.

“We have all our offensive weapons back. It’s just open if the matchup is the matchup we want to attack. Then you have to open up and make plays. Then the ball comes to me. I also stretch the field vertically. So it’s either the defense flat-footed, they throw it to me, or if not, they throw it to the guys below.

Tanning

  • Browns HC Kevin Stefanski said RB Nick Chubb is still one “from day to day” decision and they will see how he looks all week: “For all the boys, and especially for Nick, it’s a daily decision. I’m not going to rush anyone.” (Scott Petrak)
  • Stefanski said DT in the second round Michael Hal (neck) could be ready for Week 6 with the Eagles and will evaluate him this week: “I just want to see him this week.” (Tony Grossi)
  • As for whether they will change the playcalling duties this week, Stefanski said he is comfortable with their current approach: “I feel comfortable with the amount of collaboration we have in the headset. A collective effort to make sure we play better on offense.” (Mary Kay Cabot)
  • As for Brown’s LS Charley Hughlett (ribs) is not participating in Wednesday’s practice, Stefanski said Hughlett is “unlikely” to play in Week 6, via Zac Jackson.
  • Stefanski said it was “no discussion” of banking Deshaun Watson, via Grossi.
  • Watson said their offense understands they need to improve and expressed confidence in their offensive line after suffering seven sacks in Week 5: “We just have to keep getting better, all of us. I have a lot of confidence in the guys up front.” (Chris Oosting)
  • As for Commanders DT Jonathan AllenAfter Watson’s comments about Watson’s confidence shaking, the quarterback responded that he is always confident on the field: “When I step on the field, I have confidence.” (Petrak)
  • Watson also thinks Stefanski is still the best person to call plays: “We believe in Kevin. He has been making play calls in the league for several years. There is no faith or love lost when Kevin calls plays. We think he is the best play-caller in the league.” (Petrak)

Steelers

  • ESPN’s Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler point out that there is a chance at the Steelers QB Russell Wilson could move if he doesn’t get the starting job back once he’s healthy.
  • A trade is a possibility, as Wilson is only required to pay the veteran minimum this year, but the two point out that Wilson has a no-trade clause and could force his release.
  • Graziano adds that he wouldn’t rule out the Steelers from trading for the Raiders WR Davante Adams or another experienced receiver to boost their group.
  • Steelers HC Mike Tomlin QB said Russell Wilson (calf) was a full participant in the training with the second team on Wednesday ‘so as not to disrupt Justin’s preparation,’ according to Albert Breer.
  • Tomlin said they will evaluate how Wilson looks in practice before deciding anything with him: “First we will see if he can get through Wednesday and go from there.” (Mark Kaboly)
  • Tomlin said Wilson can now practice without restrictions: “He is at the point of health now that he can work without restriction on Wednesday.” (Brooke Pryor)
  • Josina Anderson quotes a source who said Wilson would need a phenomenal week of practice to be named a starter: “I think Russ needs a good week of practice before there can even be an argument… He hasn’t practiced much since he re-injured his calf.”
