The broadcaster refuses to show the extent of Aidan Hutchison’s horrific injury, but the Detroit Lions star makes a Super Bowl promise

Not much has gone wrong for the 4-1 Detroit Lions this season.

That all changed on Sunday.

Detroit lost its star pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson in the third quarter during Detroit’s 47-9 throttling of the Dallas Cowboys.

Hutchinson broke his tibia in an injury so gruesome and gruesome that the FOX broadcast refused to show a replay of it.

The Lions star spent a night in Dallas where he underwent surgery to repair the shattered tibia.

After the game, head coach Dan Campbell provided an update on Hutchinson.

“That’s tough,” Campbell said.

“You know, it was tough. And he is now in good hands, he is being cared for. He stays here (in Dallas).

“You know, obviously he’s going to be down for a while. So that’s tough, man. It’s hard when you lose someone like him.

“But after this we will know much more and of course we wish him the best.”

All indications are that this will be the end of Hutchinson’s season.

However, according to those within Hutchinson’s inner circle, this may not be the last we see of him this season.

A source close to Hutchinson told the Detroit News that the injury “appears to be less serious than a worst-case scenario and that Hutchinson could potentially return for the Super Bowl, should the Lions make it.”

Super Bowl LIX will take place on February 9, 2025.

About four more months.

It would be a long shot, but the fact that Hutchinson is even eyeing a possible return this year is encouraging.

The 24-year-old has had the best start to a season of his young career.

Hutchinson had recorded 7.5 sacks in about 4.5 games.

In other words, he was on an absolute tear.

It’s a huge blow to the Lions and their Super Bowl aspirations as they will look to rally around their fallen star.

They have a huge road game on Sunday in Minnesota, with the undefeated first place Vikings.

If the Lions want to reach the Super Bowl and possibly see their star defensive end again this season, a win on Sunday will go a long way.
