    Vientos grand slam in NLCS Game 2, TV channel

    LOS ANGELES — After a blowout opener, the National League Championship Series continues Monday with Game 2 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets.

    Sunday night’s Game 1 was far from a contest, as the No. 1 seed in the NL jumped on Mets starter Kodai Senga in the first inning and New York never recovered. The Dodgers offense scored nine runs by the end of the evening, while the pitching staff, led by Jack Flaherty, threw its third consecutive shutout of the postseason.

    Now in a 1-0 hole, New York will rely on Sean Manaea on the mound, who pitched a stellar Game 3 of the National League Division Series against the Philadelphia Phillies. On the other hand, Los Angeles will opt for a bullpen game started by Ryan Brasier, which was executed perfectly in Game 4 of the NLDS when the team’s backs were against the wall.

    LOS ANGELES — There’s a snake in my… dugout?

    When the Dodgers came off the field in the fifth inning, pitcher Brent Honeywell was headed into the dugout when he pointed to the stairs. A camera then showed a small snake crawling its way down the side of the field in front of the Dodgers.

    Someone from the team then grabbed the hose with a towel to remove it.

    LOS ANGELES – The Dodgers are finally on the scoreboard after Max Muncy hit a home run to right field to make it a 6-1 game after five innings.

    It is only the second hit that Los Angeles managed to score off Sean Manaea, who has seven strikeouts on the day.

    LOS ANGELES – Sean Manaea has historically struggled for the Dodgers, but he has been downright dominant early on.

    The left-handed Mets has six strikeouts in three innings, with one hit allowed. He struckout Shohei Ohtani twice and struck out the batter in the third inning.

    LOS ANGELES – It’s been a rough start so far for Dodgers pitchers on Monday, but they avoided further damage by emerging from a traffic jam unscathed.

    Landon Knack loaded the bases but didn’t allow anyone to score, sending Francisco Alvarez flying to center field with two outs. The score remains 6-0. New York heads into the bottom of the third inning.

    LOS ANGELES – The New York offense has entered Game 2 with a bang.

    Mark Vientos took a 3-2 pitch with two outs and the bases loaded to right center field for a grand slam to give the Mets a commanding 6-0 lead in the second inning. Earlier in the inning, Tyrone Taylor hit an RBI double for the Mets’ second run.

    Landon Knack gave up the grand slam after replacing Ryan Brasier to start the second inning.

    The Dodgers’ record-tying 33-inning scoreless streak ended with the first batter of Game 2, when Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor launched a solo home run to right field off Ryan Brasier.

    The Dodgers had not given up a run since the second inning in Game 3 of the NLDS against the Padres.

    LOS ANGELES — Jack Flaherty grew up in Los Angeles. He pitched at Dodger Stadium in high school and dreamed of one day becoming a Dodger.

    Yet even in his wildest dreams, he never imagined a night like this.

    Flaherty, in one of the best pitching performances in Dodgers postseason history, gave up just two hits in seven shutout innings to lead the Dodgers to a 9-0 loss to the New York Mets in Game 1 on Sunday night of the National League Championship Series at Dodger Stadium.
