Jets give Haason Reddick short window to seek trade amid holdout: sources

The New York Jets have given edge rusher Haason Reddick and his representation a short period to seek a trade amid his contract dispute with the team, league sources said Tuesday. Reddick’s new agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has been contacting teams over the past 12 hours to gauge interest, these sources said.

Reddick recently hired Rosenhaus to represent him after his former agent, Tory Dandy of CAA, parted ways with him amid Reddick’s postponement. Reddick hasn’t practiced or played since the Jets traded for him this offseason, when they sent a conditional third-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2026. He requested a trade from the Jets in August and the team stated at the time that it would not trade him.

Reddick has lost about a third of his non-guaranteed base salary of $14.25 million. He also skipped all offseason team events.

The trade deadline is November 5.

Last week, Jets owner Woody Johnson advocated for Reddick to join the team after the Jets fired coach Robert Saleh. “Haason, get in your car, drive down I-95 and come see the New York Jets,” Johnson said last Tuesday.

The Jets lost 23-20 to the Buffalo Bills on Monday, dropping to 2-4.
