Davante Adams took a red-eye flight to NJ as Jets completed trade

Davante Adams is just like the rest of us: he’s also running around for his doctor’s appointments.

Well, flies around.

The star wide receiver, 31, drew a red-eye to New Jersey early Tuesday morning for a physical, as the parameters of his trade to the Jets were essentially already worked out before news broke Tuesday of the trade with the Raiders, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter .

Completion of the deal — which sends a conditional third-round selection who could become a second back to Las Vegas — is contingent on Adams passing his physical at the Jets’ facility in Florham Park, N.J.

The six-time Pro Bowl wideout wasted no time, as The Athletic reported 15 minutes after news broke that Adams was at the team facility.

Adams’ reunion with former Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers has been the cause of much speculation since the latter joined Gang Green ahead of the 2023 season.

In Green Bay, the quarterback-wide receiver tandem was among the most enticing in the league. From 2014-21, they accounted for 7,590 yards and 69 touchdowns on 622 receptions.

Rodgers — along with Jets receivers Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard — has been vocal in their support for Adams joining them in New York despite the NFL’s tampering rules.

Finally, after months of juggling their chips, the Jets’ front office has bought all in.

In New York, Adams will join Wilson atop the depth chart in what has become one of the most formidable wide receiver rooms in the league.

The new Jet could make his franchise debut as early as Oct. 20, when New York travels to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers for their Week 7 matchup on “Sunday Night Football.”
