PG&E warns that public safety power shutoffs are possible for parts of the North Bay

The expected critical fire conditions have Pacific Gas & Electric Co. prompted to warn of possible power shutoffs in dozens of California counties later this week, including Sonoma, Napa, Lake and Mendocino counties.

Oakland-based PG&E said Tuesday that the Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) could begin Thursday and last until Sunday. The closures correspond to a red flag warning from the National Weather Service.
