After seeing above-average temperatures every day in October so far, Wednesday’s forecast high will be well below the average high of 79 degrees.

Temperatures on Wednesday morning dropped into the 40s and 50s and with wind gusts approaching 55 km/h, the change of autumn was in the air.

As of 9 a.m., temperatures in the metroplex were nearly 15 degrees colder than they were at the same time Tuesday. Some parts of North Texas were even more than 21 degrees colder.

Winds will ease later on Wednesday and with beautiful sunshine in the forecast, low humidity and highs only in the upper 60s, Wednesday is a day to get outside.

Cold air continues to move southwest as upper elevations shift across the Midwest, meaning Wednesday evening will be even colder under clear skies and light winds.

A gradual warming is underway as the upper highs move further east and southeast.

With most of the moisture located primarily west of North Texas, rain chances remain minimal to none during this forecast period. There is a very small chance of some rain on the northwest side of North Texas from Sunday night into Monday.

These beautiful fall skies are short-lived as we see an upper level pattern developing that warms us back into the 90s next week.
