With less than three weeks to go until the presidential elections, Donald Trump And Kamala Harris are essentially in a dead heat. But when it comes to support among women, the vice president hands down the ex-president, beating him by as much as 15 points, according to a new poll. Even considering just white women, Trump has historically fared poorly, and is on pace to have the worst numbers of any Republican candidate in a century in that particular demographic.

Hence the decision to join Fox News on Tuesday night for a town hall focused on “women’s issues” — which probably went exactly how you’d expect such an event to go. This means he spent a significant amount of time ranting about immigrants and almost no time providing substantive answers to people’s questions.

When asked why the government is “involved in women’s fundamental rights,” i.e. the right to abortion, Trump responded by telling his favorite lie: that everyone wanted Roe v. Wade fallen over.

And what will he do to make bacon more affordable? After a detour about how the war in Ukraine and October 7 would not have happened on his watch, his big answer was: inflation was: “we have to get prices down.”

On the topic of transgender athletes participating in women’s sports, he stated that he is “just going to ban it.”
