Fox News’ Bret Baier ‘Assaults’ Kamala Harris, Claims ‘Her Staff Panicked’; Trump congratulates him

Fox News host Bret Baier shared his experience Wednesday after a tense interview with Vice President Kamala Harris, noting that he quickly realized it would be “difficult to redirect her without me trying to interrupt her.”

This was Harris’ first appearance on the right-wing network since becoming the Democratic nominee. The interview aired on *Special Report* after it was previously recorded. Baier made sure to let viewers know that the interview was initially scheduled for 5 p.m., but Harris arrived 15 minutes late, which he described as a tactic similar to “icing the kicker” in football.

“We were supposed to start at 5 p.m. That’s the time they gave us. Originally the plan was to do 25 or 30 minutes. They came back and said, ‘Maybe twenty.’ So pruning has already taken place. And then the vice president showed up around 5:15 p.m. We had to push to make it work for the 6pm broadcast. That’s how it started,” Baier explains.

During the interview, Baier interrupted Harris frequently, especially during their discussion about immigration, which set the tone for the rest of the conversation. He compared his interaction with Harris to an earlier interview with former President Barack Obama, where he also struggled to keep the conversation on track.

“I knew from the beginning that it would be a challenge to redirect her without intervening,” Baier said, recalling that he once told Obama, “Mr. President, I know you love filibustering.” He expressed frustration at not having more opportunities to ask additional questions.

As the interview neared its end, Baier noticed members of Harris’ team signaling that the interview would end. “I’m talking like four people are waving their hands to signal that the conversation needs to end,” he said, adding that he believed Harris could benefit from participating in more of these types of interviews in the future to take. “Maybe she should do this more often,” Baier suggested.

Donald Trump congratulates Bret Baier

After the interview, Donald Trump was one of the first to post his response.

“Great work by Bret Baier in his interview with Lyin’ Kamala Harris,” he posted on X.

“She has a massive and irreparable case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME – so bad that she can barely talk about any other subject than the man who had the best economy ever, the strongest border in history, and who just won the unanimous approval of the US Border Patrol, me!” further explained.

He went on to say, “She is also the WORST Vice President in history, but hopefully she will be GONE soon. Congratulations again to Bret Baier for a tough but very honest interview, which clearly showed how completely incompetent Kamala is. For the good of our nation, its inferior cognitive ability must be put to the test immediately!
