DAMBULLA, Sri Lanka (AFP) – Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat against the West Indies in Dambulla in the second T20 on Tuesday as they look to level the series.

West Indies lead the three-match series 1-0 after an impressive five-wicket win on Sunday.

“We need some batters to score big scores and others to come in,” said Sri Lankan skipper Charith Asalanka. “We expect the spinners to play a big role.”

West Indies are third in the ICC T20 rankings, while Sri Lanka are languishing at eighth place.

“We are happy to chase,” said West Indies captain Rovman Powell. “It’s just a matter of playing good cricket to put pressure on the opposition.”

The T20 final against West Indies, also in Dambulla, will be played on Thursday.

The T20 series will be followed by a three-match ODI series.
