A strong low pressure system is moving towards New Mexico today. The low will plant southwest of the Four Corners on Friday. This low pressure will be responsible for windy conditions and storms in New Mexico this weekend.

Windy conditions are expected in central and southwestern New Mexico on Friday. There will be a high chance of rain across the country. There will be a chance of severe storms in eastern New Mexico. Saturday will be similar to Friday in terms of wind and rain. Rain and storms will cover a larger area of ​​the southwest on Saturday than on Friday. The severe storm threat on Saturday is slightly greater than on Friday. But still isolated in eastern New Mexico.

It’s starting to snow on the mountain tops! Some snow accumulation is already noticeable along several ski areas in northern New Mexico and southwestern Colorado. More snow is expected in these higher areas next weekend.
