Frontwoman Brody Dalle announced on her official Instagram account that the band had to cancel their performance during the music bash. “As some of you may know by now, we didn’t play festivals when we were young. We apologize for not doing this and apologize for any inconvenience or upset this may have caused you,” the caption of her post began.

“We weren’t able to announce it until the festival was setting up their program: the festival is not offering refunds. If you’re only going because of us and in lieu of a refund, DM the distillers on Instagram with your name, a photo of your tickets and the city you live in and we’ll put you on our guest list for a show in your city or the city of your choice. Save your tickets for validation.”

The annual alternative music festival takes place this weekend (October 19 and 20) at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds in Nevada. Last year they unveiled their line-up, which would see My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy and Jimmy Eat World playing their classic albums in full.

Last week, The All American Rejects announced that they would no longer play When We Were Young because the festival’s management “would not be able to accommodate” them.

In a statement they shared on Instagram, they wrote: “We have been working tirelessly for months to prepare a one-off show that we were so excited to bring to you. However, there has been a management change within the WWWY operation and they can no longer accommodate us at the previously agreed occupancy, making it impossible for us to continue.”

They further said: “We are especially devastated that we cannot play for those of you traveling through the hand to witness the visual and sonic spectacle we have brewed in our cauldron. We would like to apologize to our amazing crew who worked around the clock to make the magic happen.”

During last year’s edition of When We Were Young, Avril Lavigne and All Time Low teamed up to perform Lavigne’s hit song “Sk8er Boi.” Tony Hawk also joined Goldfinger to perform “Superman” at the bash.
