Bay Area forecast: Red Flag Warning in effect through tonight with high fire danger

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — A red flag warning remains in effect through Saturday evening for the Bay Area and Central Coast, excluding the coastal counties of Marin, Monterey and Sonoma.

Strong winds and low humidity continue to create dangerous fire conditions.

The north wind is 10-20 km/h with gusts up to 40 km/h. The relative humidity can be as low as 8%.

The red flag warning is in effect until 5 p.m. Saturday.

A wind warning lasted until 8 a.m. Saturday in the North Bay Mountains with gusts of up to 50 miles per hour.

The wind will decrease on Saturday afternoon and the major fire danger will be over.
