Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to bring Nicolo Barella into the starting line-up against Roma. This afternoon’s Serie A matchday 8 starts at 8:45 p.m.

Inter is back in action after a two-week absence during the international break.

The Nerazzurri’s first match in Serie A is away to Roma.

And Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has aimed to field more or less his strongest starting XI.

First of all, Yann Sommer starts in goal. Therefore, the former Bayern Munich veteran continues his record of starting every match for Inter this season.

Then Benjamin Pavard gets the nod in defense for Yann Bisseck.

Accordingly, the Frenchman completes the back three alongside Francesco Acerbi and Alessandro Bastoni.

Davide Frattesi started each of Inter’s last two matches ahead of the international break. This was while Nicolo Barella was absent with a thigh strain.

However, Barella returned to fitness during the international break.

That’s why Barella is ready to return. And Inzaghi has decided to give the 27-year-old the nod tonight.

Finally, when attacking, it is the usual attacking partnership of first choice. That is why Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram start for the Nerazzurri.

In terms of injuries, Inter is missing three players. First off, Tajon Buchanan isn’t quite ready to make his return from a long-term injury.
