Aiyuk of the 49ers was brought to the locker room against Chiefs, Samuel was dealing with illness

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk was taken to the locker room during Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs after taking a blow to his right knee late in the second quarter.

He was officially ruled out for the rest of the game early in the third quarter due to a knee injury.

Aiyuk was on the field but was able to walk to the blue medical tent before eventually being taken to the locker room.

The 26-year-old, who signed a four-year, $120 million extension last offseason, caught two passes for 23 yards before leaving the Chiefs game.

Deebo Samuel also went to the locker room in the first half against the Chiefs. It was announced pregame that he was dealing with an illness, but the versatile wideout was active to start the game. San Francisco is also missing Jauan Jennings, who is inactive due to a hip injury.

Sunday’s game marked the NFL debut of wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, as the rookie first-round pick missed the first six games of the season after being shot during an attempted robbery on Aug. 31.

Tight end George Kittle led the 49ers with 28 receptions and five touchdown catches prior to Week 7. Jennings posted a team-high 404 receiving yards.
