YAPHANK, N.Y. – A motorcycle crash left a woman dead and a man seriously injured on the Long Island Expressway in Yaphank Sunday evening, Suffolk police said.

A 65-year-old Bay Shore man was driving a 2007 Harley-Davidson westbound on the highway just west of Exit 68, with Dawn Jimenez-Salta as a passenger, when it struck the rear of a 2016 Lexus SUV hit. was driving slower because of traffic
According to police, around 5:25 p.m.

The Lexus then struck the rear of a 2019 Audi SUV, police said.

Jimenez-Salta, 60, of Garden City, was taken to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue, where she was pronounced dead, police said, adding that the man was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries .

No one else was injured.

According to police, all three vehicles have been seized for security checks.
