WHAT IS IT TODAY

First up in your Miami Hurricanes news this morning?

Of course we had you fully covered from Saturday’s match with Gary Ferman’s column, post-match interviews with Mario Cristobal and players, our position by position rating column, key takeaways from the match, Pro Football Focus grades, Gary Ferman already answered your messages – game questions on the message board, our game analysis story and much more.

And stay tuned today for coaches Mario Cristobal, Lance Guidry and Shannon Dawson to share their thoughts… plus it’s basketball media day and we’ll have your season preview with Jim Larranaga and players, as well as inside looks with what players are saying about the upcoming season.

This morning, Matt Shodell also shares his thoughts on this team… including a closer look at the remaining opponents, showing there’s a good chance Miami can finish undefeated.

In recruiting, don’t miss our comprehensive list of expected attendees for the Miami-Florida State game, with notes on key targets.

There’s also our weekly Live From The Crib with top reviews of Booker T.’s 27-14 win over Southridge.

We have an update with Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage 2026 WR Brandon Bennett. Communication between Bennett and the Hurricanes has been fluid in recent weeks, and he plans to attend Miami’s game against Florida State.

Also discover the latest priority Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek four-star 2026 running back Amari Latimer.

2026 Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill four-star defensive tackle Deuce Geralds still has many schools high on his radar, but Miami already stands out.

And Marianna (Fla.) four-star 2026 running back Amari Clemons, the No. 191 overall prospect and No. 19 running back in next year’s cycle, feels like an early Hurricanes priority. He hopes to visit Miami for the Hurricanes’ game against Florida State and will provide the latest updates.

Another likely visitor this weekend is Pembroke Pines (Fla.) West Broward three-star cornerback Shmar Akande. Despite his surprise summer commitment to the Toledo Rockets, Miami head coach Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes haven’t stopped recruiting the local defense. Receive the latest news there.

Since the high school football season started this fall, it may be tougher to find a 2025 prospect who has seen his stock rise higher than Pittsburgh (Pa.) Central Catholic four-star athlete Bradley Gompers. In recent weeks, the Duke committee has received offers from Ole Miss, Michigan, NC State, Pen State, Vanderbilt, Virginia and most recently Miami. And he can come visit. Find out.

Plus, we catch up with Tampa (Fla.) Armwood four-star 2025 receiver Tyler Williams. He has remained committed to Georgia, but the On300 No. 190 pick knows he wants to visit Miami at least one more time before the Dec. 4 early signing period.

And as always, you can stay informed of any news today.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Mario has grown tremendously as a coach… Posted by CANESKINGOFFCB

No way in previous years would he have ever gone for it at 4th after those 3 times… His record after bye weeks is terrible, but he played to win today, he knows the defense is missing big guys in the secondary . Our best defense was our offense. For the first time I can remember, Mario didn’t go conservative, let the team’s best unit win the game, and moved on. We NEED to sign some elite ball hawk CBS and safeties like we have in this class, and I think at least 3 or 4 will start immediately next season. Unfortunately, this will be our season for the rest of the season, all offensively. At least Mario lets Dawson pull out all the stops and keep us alive, which is completely at odds with Mario in the past. He deserves credit for that….

“We had some mistakes on special teams that hurt us, but one thing that didn’t hurt us was our effort. We always played hard, played with resilience and made some key plays when it mattered.
