Samantha Irvin reveals WWE exit in letter to fans and staff following Ricochet’s move to AEW | News, scores, highlights, stats and rumors

Monday Night Raw ring announcer Samantha Irvin announced in a letter on social media that she is leaving WWE.

Irvin thanked WWE fans, wrestlers and staff members in her letter. Her departure comes after her fiancé Ricochet left WWE last summer and joined AEW.

“WWE Universe, my time as your Monday Night Raw Ring Announcer has come to an end,” the statement read. “I love you guys so much and this doesn’t mean the end of my art, I still have a lifetime to share.”

Irvin joined WWE in 2021 as the ring announcer for 205 Live. A year later, she was moved to SmackDown Live to replace Greg Hamilton following his departure from the company. In February 2023, she was moved to Monday Night Raw.

Irvin quickly became a fan favorite for her passionate approach to ring announcing. She introduced 14 matches at WrestleMania 40 last April and earned praise from legendary ring announcer Michael Buffer.

Before her professional wrestling career, Irvin, whose real name is Samantha Johnson, rose to fame as a semifinalist on season 10 of America has talent. She also appeared in an episode of I can see your voice on Fox, where she showed off her whistling skills. She also had roles in the Las Vegas production Vegas! The showwith Gladys Knight and Tina Turner.

Irvin did not say whether she would continue her career in professional wrestling, but she concluded her letter by saying, “To my fans, my entire career I’ve been waiting for you! That’s the intention and I can prove it. Stay tuned the height.”
