Lions’ Jameson Williams suspended for violating the NFL’s PED policy

The Lions will be without one of their weapons for the next two games.

Jameson Williams has been suspended for two games for violating the NFL’s Performance Enhancing Substances policy, ESPN’s Eric Woodyard reports.

Williams told the reporter that he is disappointed with the situation but “has no choice but to make light of the situation.”

“I am in good spirits and ready to return to my brothers as soon as possible,” Williams added.

It was not immediately clear which substance Williams tested positive for.

Williams has 17 catches for 363 yards and three touchdowns so far this season, and his speed extends down the field to give the rest of the offense more space.

Williams was previously suspended for six games in 2023 for violating the league’s gambling policy by betting on other sports while at the team facility or hotel.

“It hit me out of nowhere and it hit a few other players in the league and on my team out of nowhere,” Williams said at the time. “I wasn’t aware of this situation, but when it happened, like I said, I took it on the chin. I was ready to move on as things progressed. I have the consequences. That’s been my whole plan to move forward and just look at the better days.

Jameson ultimately missed only three games as the suspension was later shortened when the NFL revised its gambling policy.
