With the 2024-2025 NBA season about to begin, there are many heated matchups with top superstars throughout the season – including LeBron James, Anthony Edwards, Jalen Brunson, Nikola Jokić, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Dončić, Victor Wembanyama and others.

The NBA season begins on Tuesday, October 22, while the 82-game regular season concludes on Sunday, April 13, 2025. Opening day features two games: New York Knicks take on Boston Celtics at TD Garden in Boston with a start time of 4:30 PM PT/7:30 PM ET and Minnesota Timberwolves take on Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles starting at 7:00 PM PT/10:00 PM ET. Both games will be broadcast on TNT.

Stream NBA games 2024-2025 without cable

While NBA games are broadcast on TV via ESPN, ABC, TNT and NBA TV, games can also be streamed on Internet-based streaming cable services, such as DirecTV Stream, Fubo and Hulu + Live TV, some of which even offer free trials.

Watch the 2024-2025 NBA games with DirecTV Stream, featuring ESPN, ABC, TNT and NBA TV, along with over 90 other channels including CBS, CBS Sports Network, ION Television, NBC, Fox, AMC, Bravo, CNBC , Disney Channel and others.

Sports fans can watch NBA games for free with the cable streamer’s five-day trial. After that, you can cancel the service or keep watching, with prices starting at $74.99 for the entry-level entertainment package with the streamer’s current deals.

If you want to watch part of the NBA season live online for free, the online TV streaming service offers a free seven-day trial for new subscribers.

Hulu

Hulu + Live TV

To watch ESPN, ABC, and TNT (but not NBA TV) online, a subscription to Hulu + Live TV is another fantastic option. The streaming service includes Disney+, ESPN+ and access to more than 90 live channels – such as CBS Sports Network, BET, CNN, Food Network and more – starting at $59.99 per month for the first three months for new or returning subscribers. The deal runs through November 19; after that, subscriptions will automatically renew starting at $82.99 per month.

In addition to live cable, Hulu + Live TV allows subscribers to watch originals from Hulu, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm (Star Wars), The Muppets Studio and Pixar Animation, as well as ESPN+ for original sports programming and live sports from F1 racing, UFC, MLB and other sports leagues. It also includes unlimited cloud DVR. Hulu also offers a three-day free trial.

Garland

Sling is one of the cheapest options for new live TV streaming subscribers who want to watch NBA games on ESPN, ABC (and ESPN3), and TNT with the Orange+Blue plan, which offers up to 50 percent off the first month for eligible new subscribers (prices and channel availability depend on your local TV market).

Sports enthusiasts can save when they pre-pay Sling for $105 for three months (a discount from $114). Meanwhile, NBA TV is available through Sling’s Sports Extra package for an additional $11 per month. The package also includes NHL Network, MLB Network, ESPNU and more.
