Gwen Stefani debuted a dramatic hair change on The Voice

The voice Season 26 Coach Gwen Stefani brings a new hairstyle to the Battles round: sunny Californian blonde with dramatic front bangs. And she looks great.

How to watch

Watch The voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and the next day on Peacock.

We wonder what inspired the new look. Perhaps time on the farm in Oklahoma with Blake Shelton has prompted Stefani to warm up her standard icy platinum mane. Maybe she wanted her hair to match her Battles outfit: a sleeveless dress covered in a yellow floral pattern. Or maybe she just wanted a change!

Can Stefani’s brand new ‘inspire the performers of Team Gwen to shine when it counts on stage? The Battles round is our first chance to find out, as each coach pairs two of their artists to perform an elimination duet on one song. Ultimately, one artist will stay, while the other will unfortunately be sent packing…unless, that is, another coach chooses to cash in on his steal opportunity and recruit an eliminated Battles round artist to his own crew.

Stefani is a professional in the game at this point. “Man, I learned from the best,” she said of her time on the show, specifically referring to her early days taking notes from veteran coaches like Adam Levine (who returns to The voice in season 27). “It’s funny because it’s just so different from what we’re used to. But then you find yourself in a different position as a coach, where you look back on your career and think, ‘Gosh, what is that? did Do I do that? For example, let me share that with them, because maybe I can help them with that too.’ So it’s just super satisfying…and weird.”

Now she is the person that other coaches look to as an example. As newbie coach Snoop Dogg said of his first days on the show, “My strategy was watch, listen and learn.” As the show’s oldest coach, all the newcomers can learn something from Stefani.
