Bengals WR Tee Higgins questionable with quad injury

CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati Bengals’ injury report for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles provided a mixed picture.

Wide receiver Tee Higgins is questionable for Sunday’s game after being limited in Friday’s practice with a quadriceps injury. His playing status will be evaluated throughout the weekend.

Higgins has dealt with soft tissue injuries in the past, including earlier this season. He missed the first two games due to a hamstring injury that surfaced just a few days before the season opener against the New England Patriots. Since then, he has had a strong start to the year, racking up 75 receiving yards or more in each of the last three games.

Two starters, left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. (knee) and safety Geno Stone (shin) will play in the Week 8 game at Paycor Stadium, coach Zac Taylor said after Friday’s practice. Brown and Stone were limited early in the week but made enough progress to be available at full strength for Cincinnati as the Bengals look to win their third straight game. Neither had an availability indication on the game status report issued Friday afternoon.

“You could tell they were both sore the first two days,” Taylor said. “But when I came out today, they were good.”

Brown, who signed a four-way contract worth $64 million in free agency in 2023, is having the best season of his career. He currently ranks first in tackle success rate at 96.3%, which is the highest mark of his career.

The former Oklahoma standout will also look to keep his playing streak alive. He has missed just one regular-season game in his seven-year career: a Week 17 game against the Bengals while Brown was with Kansas City. Sunday will be his 32nd start in a row.

“It takes some perseverance to push through some things that I’m sure he’s had to deal with in his past,” Taylor said Friday. “He’s just a guy you can count on.”
