Trump appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast for almost three hours: here are the top moments

Former President Trump recorded the podcast ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ for almost three hours on Saturday.

The podcast, recorded in Austin, Texas, helped propel the Republican presidential candidate to Rogan’s 14.5 million followers on Spotify and 17.6 million followers on YouTube. Rogan, the country’s most listened to podcast host, has enormous influence on the young male voters Trump wants to reach.

Here are the key insights from the podcast that aired Friday.

Trump asks Rogan to explain why he’s getting bad publicity: ‘You said a lot of wild things—‘

While explaining the process of choosing political nominations once he came to power, Trump discussed his first appointment of John Bolton, who served as White House National Security Advisor. In 2019, Trump fired Bolton, who remains a staunch critic. Trump described how Phil Ruffin, a fellow American businessman, warned him that Bolton was a “bad guy,” but by then Trump had already hired him.

‘And he was right. But he was good in a way. He’s a lunatic. And every time I dealt with a country and they saw this crazy job behind me, they were like, ‘Man, Trump’s going away. to make war with us.’ He was with Bush when they stupidly entered the Middle East. They should never have done it as a civilian, so I always got more publicity than other people.

“It wasn’t like I was trying,” Trump said. ‘Actually, I don’t know exactly why. Maybe you can tell me.’

“I can tell you for sure,” Rogan offered. “You said a lot of wild things…. And then CNN, in all their brilliance by highlighting your wild things, made you much more popular. And they boost you in the polls because people were tired of someone talking bulls– — pre-prepared politician jargon. And even if they didn’t agree with you, at least they knew who that guy was, he really is.

Rogan tells Trump ‘the rebels are Republicans now,’ Elon Musk agrees

“The rebels are Republicans now, but you want to be invisible, you want to be punk rock, you want to criticize the system? You’re conservative now,” Rogan said. “That’s how crazy it is. And then now the liberals are in favor of silencing criticism. They’re in favor of online censorship. … They’re getting in on regulating free speech and now regulating the First Amendment. are bananas to look at.”

Elon Musk, who took over Twitter – now X – in 2022, commented on the clip, writing: “Exactly.”

“You know they’re coming after their political opponent,” Trump told Rogan. “I’ve been studied more than Alfonse Capone.”

Trump says he told North Korea’s Kim Jong Un to ‘just relax,’ ‘go to the beach’

During a meeting with former President Obama during the presidential transition period, Trump recalled, “Obama thought we were going to war with North Korea,” Trump said. Rogan recalled how Trump called North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un “Little Rocket Man” early in his first term.

“I said, ‘Little Rocket Man, you’re going to burn in hell.’ And it was tough,” Trump said. “I got to know him better than anyone. And I said, ‘Are you ever doing anything else? Why don’t you take it easy and relax? Go to the beach?’ You know, I jokingly said, “You’re always building nuclear power.”
