Team news: Jensen returns against Ipswich

Midfielder Mathias Jensen will return to the Brentford squad for Saturday’s Premier League match against Ipswich Town, head coach Thomas Frank has confirmed.

Jensen, sidelined by a calf injury, last appeared for the Bees in a 3–1 win over Southampton on 31 August.

“He will be involved in the team, which is very positive,” Frank said at his pre-match press conference. “He has been training all week and looks good.”

Rico Henry (knee), Igor Thiago (knee) and Gustavo Nunes (back) are unavailable for the Tractor Boys’ visit to Gtech Community Stadium, but Frank revealed the trio are making good progress.

“Rico is getting closer, but not close enough (for Ipswich),” he said.

“I don’t know if careful is the right word, but we want to do it well. If a player is out for a long time, you want to make sure he’s ready when you put him on the field.

“I would like to say something now, but it is better for me to come to a future press conference and say, ‘Tomorrow Rico will be available.’”

About Thiago and Nunes, Frank added: “They are both running around on the pitch, but not with the team. That is positive.”

Aaron Hickey (hamstring) and Josh Dasilva (knee) remain the West Londoners’ long-term absentees.
