Eli Drinkwitz is in his fifth season with Mizzy. He is 34-22 and 19-18 in the SEC. Including a 12-1 season at Appy State in 2019, he is 46-23 overall.
Alabama is 5-2 all-time against the Tigers with five straight wins – four in a row since Mizzou joined the SEC. Their last meeting was in the 2020 Tide National Championship season 38-19.
Missouri QB Brady Cook (ankle) missed time last week, but returned to the game. He is listed as ‘doubtful’ but has not been ruled out. Don’t be surprised if he plays. His journeyman replacement Drew Pyne is terrible. Leading rusher Nate Noel (85 cars, 503 yds) is also questionable. Starting TE Brett Norfleet (shoulder) is questionable.
Bama safety Keon Sabb is out. Bray Hubbard takes his place.
It’s homecoming for Alabama. The Tide honors the 1999 SEC Championship team. Shaun Alexander and Chris Samuels (both 1996–1999) are honorary captains.
Tuscaloosa skies are sunny skies with a high temperature around 86°.
