Texas A&M’s all-black threads lead the Week 9 college football uniforms

A top-15 matchup means special uniforms in Week 9 of the College Football season.

The No. 14 Texas A&M Aggies will take on the No. 8 LSU Tigers in a 6-1 team battle at Kyle Field. The Aggies will take the field in style, with their all-black uniforms outfitted with the “Aggies” font on the helmet. It’s the first time since 2015 that Texas A&M has worn all black.

LSU will combat the uniform with an icy all-white look.

Here are the best college football uniforms from Week 9.

Unique Combinations

The newly No. 1-ranked Oregon Ducks will take on the No. 20 Illinois Fighting Illini at home on Saturday in a familiar look. They’ll be wearing the helmet and uniform from their “Heroes” uniform, which debuted in Week 6. But there’s a twist: the Ducks are topping it off with dark pants instead of yellow pants.

The Oregon State Beavers may be struggling on the field, but their uniforms are a must this week. Oregon State has a clean look ahead of its game against the California Golden Bears.

Dark mode

The Aggies aren’t the only all-black ranked team this week. The No. 6 Miami Hurricanes have a nice monochromatic matchup against the Florida State Seminoles.

Throw back

Homecomings across the country mean the throwbacks are coming out.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers wear a classic white helmet against the Maryland Terrapins. Minnesota wore the helmets in the 1960s.

Four straight losses have spoiled the North Carolina Tar Heels’ season, but they’re bringing the heat this week with pure white throwbacks.

It’s a big game with the No. 11 BYU Cougars this week and the UCF Knights opted for a throwback look. The Knights’ all-black combo includes a classic ’90s helmet.

Helmet heat

The TCU Horned Frogs rarely miss with their helmets and this week is no exception. After a white look last week, TCU is bringing back its purple eyelids.

The No. 18 Ole Miss Rebels mix up their traditional look with the debut of a clean helmet against the Oklahoma Sooners.
