Sacramento Kings fans flood DOCO for fan fest as excitement grows for regular season play

SACRAMENTO – Kings fans flooded DOCO on Sunday for the annual fan fest at the Golden 1 Center. They were able to see the team in action with an open practice as they waited for the start of the regular season this week.

“I’m looking forward to the energy,” said Alek Scheffler, manager of the Cabana Club at DOCO.

Cabana Club is a new company that has gotten a taste of the upcoming action and many are looking forward to serving new creations to customers this season.

“It’s going to get busier and busier,” said Christopher Rothman, who works at World Traveler in DOCO. “Start serving coffee to people who want to stay awake for the entire game.”

With extra foot traffic, it also means extra security to prevent incidents like what happened the night before the fan fest, where one person was shot near 4th and L Street. Sacramento police said the bullets also hit six empty cars parked in the nearby DOCO parking garage.

“There’s a lot of people here, like different ages, where you never know what’s going to happen,” Rothman said.

Companies say police and security are constantly contacting them to make sure everything runs smoothly so fans can focus on having fun this season.

“Every now and then it can get a bit crazy depending on where you are, and the police are always there to make sure people are under control and having fun,” says Robert Hall, the managing director of Fizz Champagne and Bubble. Bar.

With big additions to the roster this season like DeMar DeRozan, Kings fans have big expectations for the Beam Team.

During the fan fest, those in the VIP package also got to meet and greet with Kings alumni Anthony Bonner and Ralph Sampson.

There was food, drinks, music, custom trading cards and a kids zone. During the open practice, the Kings players also received skills challenges and a rookie talent show.
