The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in southwestern Oklahoma is closed as the massive Rush wildfire burns thousands of acres nearby.

The fire started Friday near Rush Lake and burned more than 10,000 acres.

Due to heavy smoke, all public areas and entrances to the shelter are closed.

Comanche County Emergency Management says all evacuation orders for homes in the area have been lifted.

At last check there were no injuries.
