Lily Allen says pictures of her feet make more money than Spotify streams

Whether you respect her hustle or not, Lily Allen will continue to grind.

A few months after joining OnlyFans to sell photos of her feet, the 39-year-old singer-songwriter said on X Friday (October 25) that her side hustle has been more lucrative than the streams she earns on one of ‘s the world’s largest music platforms. “Imagine you are an artist and have almost 8 million monthly listeners on Spotify, but you make more money because 1,000 people subscribe to pictures of your feet,” she wrote.

Allen’s comment came in response to someone who had commented negatively on a post promoting her OnlyFans account. “Imagine being one of the biggest pop stars/musicians in Europe and then being reduced to this,” the fan wrote, with the “Smile” singer adding: “don’t hate the player, hate the game.”

Spotify declined Billboard‘s request for comment.

At the time of writing, Allen’s OnlyFans page’s monthly subscription fee is $10. Based on her numbers, Allen makes approximately $10,000 on the site every month. In 2023, the number of artists earning $10,000 or more in royalties from Spotify streams was approximately 66,000. And according to kworb.net, which a source close to the situation says is quite accurate, the daily number of streams on Spotify as of October 17 was approximately 851,623. Assuming this figure is correct, the Music Streaming Royalty Calculator estimates that Spotify would have paid a total of $4,077 per day, of which $3,239 would go to the sound recording for the copyright owner; $336 in mechanical royalties goes to the publisher, who pays the songwriter; and $503 in performance royalties going to performance rights organizations (ASCAP, BMI, etc.).

The musician launched her feet photography business in July after learning she had an exceptionally high score on WikiFeet, which she revealed on her website Miss me? podcast. “I have a lady who comes to do my nails,” she told co-host Miquita Oliver at the time. “She said I could make a lot of money selling foot content on OnlyFans. And I’m like, ‘Not no.’

Shortly afterwards, Allen told how her husband – Stranger things star David Harbor – commented on her new venture. “Yes, he is, he loves it,” she continued Miss me? “At first he wasn’t excited, but he said, ‘Is this a kink for you?’ And I was like, ‘No, it’s not kink at all,’ but maybe there’s something in the power element of it that’s a little kinky to me.
