Frank Ocean fans were left devastated after discovering he doesn’t feature on The Creator’s new album Chromakopia, Tyler, after being convinced he would make a surprise appearance in the run-up to its release.

Rapper Tyler, 33, released his eighth studio album on Monday, just 12 days after officially announcing the project.

It was during the marketing rollout that fans went crazy with the theory that Thinkin Bout You singer Frank, 37, would make a sneaky guest appearance, thanks to a few red herrings.

The internet went into a frenzy after discovering that Chromakopia would be released on Frank’s 37th birthday.

They also noted that Tyler drove a white Ferrari in the music video for the song Noid, which was released as a single on October 21.

Fans immediately believed that the car was a nod to Frank’s song White Ferrari, which was featured on his 2016 album Blonde, and that it was a hint that a collaboration was on the way.

Additionally, a teaser for Tyler’s new song St Chroma sent the internet into a tailspin that he had collaborated with Frank due to the cryptic vocals.

It has since been revealed that Daniel Caesar leaned his vocals towards the track.

However, Frank is nowhere to be seen on Chromakopia.

Instead, the 14-song track list features songs from guests GloRilla, Daniel Caesar, Teezo Touchdown, and Childish Gambino, to name a few.

Angry fans vented their frustrations via X, formerly known as Twitter.

One wrote: ‘I was hoping for a surprise Frank Ocean movie on #Chromakopia for his 37th birthday. I don’t think it was intentional.’

Another said: ‘The new Tyler the Creator album is absolutely amazing. BUT WHERE IS FRANK OCEAN?’

A third continued: “Not having Frank Ocean on Tyler’s album was my biggest heartbreak of the month.”

However, others called out fans for being “delusional” about the fantasy collaboration.

“I actually wish people would stop expecting Frank Ocean to be on every Tyler project, but in the end you’re all disappointing yourselves,” one person said.

“No Frank Ocean movie in Chromakopia, y’all were delusional,” another added.

The friendship between Frank and Tyler goes back a long way: the singer joined the rapper group Odd Future in 2009.

In 2011, he featured on Tyler’s song She, which appeared on his album Goblin.

Fans of Frank have been patiently waiting for the Grammy award-winning artist to release new music to the world.

His debut album Channel Orange from 2012 was an instant hit, as was his second album Blonde from 2016.

Last year, Frank canceled his second Coachella set after his first performance was plagued by technical problems the week before.

The performance marked the end of a six-year hiatus.

While there’s no official word yet on new music from Frank, Tyler fans are embarking on a seven-month world tour in celebration of Chromakopia.

The tour kicks off in Minnesota on February 2 and will see him perform across North America before heading to Britain and Europe on April 25.
