One week after Election Day, Democratic candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris is losing. How do we know that? Turnout in states like Arizona, Nevada and North Carolina favors Republicans, GOP candidate and former President Donald Trump leads Harris in New Hampshire (a state Joe Biden won by 7 points), Harris mimics Trump’s campaign tactics after, like meeting black men in a barbershop, Democrat Mayor Eric Adams defends Trump in his deep blue city, and more:

  • Harris has changed her tactics and message. She has turned from a cheerful warrior into a crazy-sounding doomsayer, telling voters that Trump, who has been Israel’s most consistent champion, is the second coming of Hitler. You don’t do that unless you lose.
  • You don’t start out filling your rallies with celebrities to attract crowds, but the recent event in Houston announcing a Beyoncé performance had a huge backfire.

  • The polls have shifted in Trump’s favor, not dramatically, but steadily. Prediction markets have also moved toward the former president.

  • Major newspapers have declined to endorse Harris, a surprising departure from past practice.
  • Democratic senators running for re-election in toss-up states are running humiliating ads aligning themselves with Trump.

Worried about sinking poll numbers, Harris and her surrogates have recently ramped up inflammatory — and yes, dangerous — accusations against Donald Trump, comparing him to Hitler and even suggesting he throw his political enemies into internment camps.

But the New York Times reports that Future Forward, Harris’ main super PAC, has warned the campaign that its focus on fascism and Trump’s character is not working; after all, his positive ratings in the latest New York Times/Siena poll match those of Kamala Harris. People want to hear about policy instead.

Ironically, some of this idiotic vitriol is falling on Hillary Clinton, who escaped punishment for countless misdeeds, including destroying and lying about government-protected communications, recklessly mishandling classified information, and using campaign funds to To launch a Russian hoax, an entirely fabricated attack that undermined Trump’s presidency from the start.

Trump could have gone after Clinton on a number of fronts — including the highly questionable activities of her foundation — but chose not to. Unlike the Biden White House, Trump has not weaponized his Justice Department against his political enemies.

The irresponsible rhetoric isn’t Harris’s only new tactic. Like Clinton in 2016, the Democratic candidate is showcasing scores of celebrities — Bruce Springsteen, Magic Johnson, Eminem and others — in hopes of filling the stands.

But in Texas, fans became angry when a much-hyped performance by Beyoncé resulted in a four-minute lecture on abortion rights instead of a concert. People don’t like to be cheated.

Star power didn’t help Clinton in 2016, and apparently isn’t doing much for Harris either. The Real Clear Politics shows Donald Trump leading Harris by a notch in the national poll average, but here’s the real news: He has the momentum.

Several major polls show the two candidates tied, while previously they had Harris in the lead. For example, a New York Times/Siena poll of 2,516 likely voters shows that the candidates are in a dead heat; The same poll earlier this month showed Harris ahead by three points.

More importantly, Trump is leading in every swing state.

The betting markets have also moved towards Trump, with the RCP average of betting odds showing Trump the favorite by 24 points, 61.8 to 36.9. The predictions are so lopsided (and deflating to Democrats) that the liberal media is hinting that these numbers can (and possibly are) manipulated by just a few big bets.

According to Bloomberg, a French “whale” has distorted the numbers on Polymarket, the top gambling site with more than $2 billion in trading volumes. Using various accounts, the unknown trader has placed $45 million on Trump to win, but he is also making a bet that Taylor Swift will announce she is pregnant before the end of the year. Partisan at work or a rich guy who puts his money behind his instincts? I’ll take the latter.

As Trump rises to power, it is perhaps no surprise that the Washington Post announced it would not endorse Harris this year, abandoning its decades of traditional support for Democratic candidates. The shocking decision threw the editorial team into turmoil and prompted thousands of people to cancel their subscriptions.

Rumors are swirling that Jeff Bezos, owner of the Post but also founder of Amazon and space technology company Blue Origin, feared the business risk of being on Trump’s bad side. Whatever the cause, the decision may not bode well for Harris, especially since it followed a similar choice by the Los Angeles Times, a reliably liberal newspaper in Harris’ home state.

Of greater importance to voters are likely to be the expressions of support from unions and other interested parties. Here again, Harris falls short, failing to win the Teamsters’ traditional Democratic support after internal polling showed 58% of their members planned to vote for Trump. The International Association of Fire Fighters, which endorsed Joe Biden in 2020, also declined to throw their support behind Harris, as did the National Border Patrol Council.

But in Texas, fans became angry when a much-hyped performance by Beyoncé resulted in a four-minute lecture on abortion rights instead of a concert. People don’t like to be cheated.

The former president is gaining ground in swing states, but it’s still shocking to see incumbent Democratic senators in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin vying for reelection and spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on ads boasting about their ties to Trump.

Democrat Bob Casey of Pennsylvania releases an ad claiming he has “protested” the Biden administration to protect fracking and “sided with Trump on ending NAFTA.” Similarly, in Wisconsin, Tammy Baldwin claims in an ad that she “pushed President Trump into signing her Made in America bill…” For the record, both Casey and Baldwin voted to impeach Donald Trump.

If the Democrats running for re-election want to keep Trump in line, you can bet he’ll be in the lead. Pennsylvania Democratic Senator John Fetterman recently told a New York Times reporter, “We’re in trouble. And there’s no denying that.” That sounds good.
