Pittsburgh Steelers DL torches Giants OT after TJ Watt’s bold comment backfires

Before the Pittsburgh Steelers played the New York Giants on Monday, Giants starting right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor told star pass rusher TJ Watt that he wanted to play one-on-one with him. Eluemunor said he wanted to be on an island with Watt and show what he could do.

“I’m the most confident guy in this locker room,” Eluemunor said. “I think you can see that in my play this year. I want to be on an island with him all day.”

During a crucial action in the match, Eluemunor got his wish. Watt stripped Daniel Jones, forcing a huge turnover that brought the game’s momentum back to the Steelers. Injured Steelers player DeMarvin Leal posted about the comments on X and set Eluemunor on fire.

“I thought Fat Buddy didn’t need any help,” Leal said. “When your team needed you most, you ate your words.”

Leal burned Eluemunor for those comments. Watt also saw those comments before the game, but never needed the motivation to get up for any game.

“Of course,” Watt said. “I mean, I have a lot of respect for every player in the NFL. Everyone works hard, and I try to take my opportunities when I get them and make the most of them when they come.”

That comment backfired on Eluemunor, as Watt finished with two sacks and helped the Steelers secure their sixth win.
