10-year-old boy ‘cries’ after catching Freddie Freeman’s World Series Grand Slam ball

One young boy had his dreams come true when he caught a home run ball – possibly the most historic home run ball ever – during this year’s World Series.

Freddie Freeman’s grand slam during Game 1 of the World Series not only gave the Dodgers the win, but also gave 10-year-old Zachary the opportunity to catch the ball that Freeman drilled into right field, becoming the first-ever grand slam slam in a match. World Series game.

After Zachary, whose parents have decided to withhold his last name, picked up the ball, his parents talked about the unique moment with NBC News. “When he hit the ball, we knew it was leaving the park, but we had no idea we were going to catch it.” they told the outlet. “The ball bounced on the chair in front of us and rolled a little on the ground. Then I got it.”

Zachary’s father Nico said of his son’s feelings at the time: “He was just crying – tears streaming down his eyes and a big smile on his face. He just had tears of joy.”
