NEW YORK, NY - OCTOBER 28: Freddie Freeman #5 of the Los Angeles Dodgers celebrates in the dugout after hitting a two-run home run in the first inning during Game 3 of the 2024 World Series presented by Capital One between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium on Monday, October 28, 2024 in New York, New York. Freddie Freeman has done it again.

The Los Angeles Dodgers star hit another home run, his fourth in as many games in the World Series against the New York Yankees. The first-inning homer also marked the sixth straight World Series game with a homer, dating back to the 2021 World Series when he was with the Atlanta Braves. No player had ever hit home runs in six consecutive World Series games.

Freeman’s home run gave Los Angeles an early 2-0 lead.

With his homer on Tuesday, Freeman became the only player to hit home runs in six consecutive World Series games. On Monday he tied the record of George Springer, who did so with the Houston Astros.

Freeman’s first home run of the series came in Game 1 when he hit a walk-off grand slam to give the Dodgers a 6–3 victory in extra innings.

His home run in Game 2 gave Los Angeles a three-run lead and ultimately enough to walk away with another victory. In Game 3 on Monday, Freeman homered in the first inning to spark the Dodgers’ offense en route to a 4-2 victory.

While a lot can still happen, Freeman appears to be well on his way to his second World Series title and first World Series MVP. He has six hits, four home runs and nine RBI, easily the Dodgers’ most productive player in the series.

Freeman had a decent performance in the NLDS and NLCS, with seven hits and one RBI in eight games, but has taken a big step forward in the World Series and could be the reason the Dodgers complete a clean sweep of the Yankees .
