    Keri Russell returns as US Ambassador to Britain Kate Wyler for the second season of ‘The Diplomat’.

    Netflix’s political thriller returns on Halloween and less than a week away from the upcoming US elections, making it a great watch for both occasions.

    The first season premiered in April 2023 and concluded with Russell learning that the British Prime Minister is responsible for an attack on a British warship that brought her to the British Showrunner, and creator Debora Cahn has confirmed that season 2 will follow Kate’s attempt to to prove it.

    “The US and Britain don’t spy on each other,” showrunner and creator Debora Cahn told Netflix. ‘In fact, they share all their intelligence. How do you investigate the Prime Minister? Who do you trust?’

    The first season earned Russell an Emmy nomination in 2023 in the lead actress category in the drama series category.

    Season 1 of ‘The Diplomat’ is available to stream on Netflix. Season 2 will also be available on the streaming platform starting Thursday, October 31, Halloween.

    Where is ‘The Diplomat’ filmed?

    According to the movie guide Atlas of Wonders, the second season of “The Diplomat” was filmed mainly in England and Paris.

    The season 2 trailer, which was released earlier this month, featured scenes prominently shot in London’s historic St. Paul’s Cathedral, according to Netflix.

    “We filmed at St. Paul’s for four days,” Cahn told Netflix. ‘The robes worn by our clergy were loaned to us by the cathedral. It was the fourth time they had ever been worn, including Winston Churchill’s funeral and Margaret Thatcher’s. It was breathtaking.’
