Will the forecast be spooky for your Halloween?

No coat needed this year: Trick-or-treaters will be in for a surprisingly warm Halloween in Vermont.

Forecasters predict temperatures in the 70s Thursday night, even after the sun sets and trick-or-treaters take to the streets.

The hottest Halloween on record in Burlington was in 2019, when it was 71°F.

A forecast from AccuWeather’s Paul Pastelok said there will be no snow, ice or cold temperatures for Halloween this year in most of the country.

“We generally see a lot of mild weather during Halloween, with it being downright warm in some places,” Pastelok said.

What will the weather be like on Halloween in VT?

According to hourly weather forecasts from the National Weather Service, temperatures in Burlington will be in the high 60s during peak hours on Halloween.

At 6:00 PM in Burlington, the NWS predicts a temperature of 69°F. The NWS predicts temperatures will drop to around 66°F by 8 p.m.

There is a chance of rain overnight, with the NWS predicting an 18% chance of precipitation at 6 p.m. in Burlington. By 8 p.m. that rises to 81%.

What time is sunset on Halloween?

Little ones waiting until dark to trick-or-treat on Thursday evenings won’t have to wait too long.

The National Weather Service forecast for Thursday shows the sun setting in Burlington at 5:42 p.m.

This year, according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, there will only be a small patch of moon with 1% illumination.
