The Nets announced Monday that Ben Simmons will not play against the Nuggets as he manages lower back injuries. This seems like more of a precaution than anything, as Simmons has been available since training camp began and has averaged 24.0 minutes per game through Brooklyn’s first three games.

Along with Simmons, forward Bojan Bogdanovic (left foot injury recovery), forward Trendon Watford (left hamstring strain) and Day’Ron Sharpe (left hamstring strain) will also be out for Tuesday’s game against Denver. Simmons is averaging 5.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game while shooting 50.0% from the field and 75.0% from the free throw line as the second point guard in the starting lineup alongside Dennis Schroder .
