OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – As our Wednesday progresses, a strong cold front will move through the area.

This means there will be rain and thunderstorms all day.

The strongest of these will be possible south-east of the metro after 3pm, with gusty winds and hail the main risks.

A tornado also cannot be ruled out near the Kansas border or in our Missouri cities.

That threat should disappear in our area by 8 p.m.

Temperatures peak early in the morning and then drop into the 50s for most of the day.

A few spotty showers remain possible overnight, but most of our rain will fall during the day.

Totals end up near an inch for many, with some spots picking up more; that will provide the most rain from one system since August!

We leave in time for Halloween and although there will be a lot of wind in the morning, it will be much calmer by trick-or-treating time.

Rain chances will increase again over the weekend, with a few showers possible on Sunday.

Rain remains possible until Monday and Tuesday.
