Wind, hail, chance of tornadoes Wednesday, fire threat remains

Pay close attention to the weather conditions today!

It was a calm morning, but weather conditions are expected to change quickly later in the day.

Chief Meteorologist David Payne and his team are monitoring wind, hail and a tornado threat.

What’s the weather like in Oklahoma on Wednesday?

Expect 80 degrees Wednesday afternoon, but rain chances increase and storms are expected in the afternoon.

A cold front and a dry line will first produce strong to severe storms in the northwest.

Storms develop west of I-35 during the afternoon and march eastward in the evening. The OKC metro will experience severe storms from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Much-needed rain returns with storms bringing damaging winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes.

Any storm that develops ahead of the dryline and cold front has the greatest chance of producing a tornado.

Halloween looks dry and cool. After the storm system clears, expect a clear and pleasant day for trick-or-treating!

trick or treating

Temperatures are in the mid-70s and light winds make for a comfortable evening.
