Wednesday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers will feel a little more special for Los Angeles Lakers rookie Bronny James.

The Northeast Ohio native told reporters that his primary focus will be on getting a win for the Lakers, but that he will also “absorb the whole atmosphere when I’m home too.”

James believes he will appear in court at some point. The opportunity to have him and his father, LeBron, on the court in Cleveland at the same time could be too good to pass up.

However, the twenty-year-old’s homecoming won’t last long.

James hasn’t played since opening night, when he logged 2:41 on the floor in a 110-103 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Cavaliers are not an opponent that Los Angeles can afford to take lightly. Cleveland has won its first four games, the last of which defeated the New York Knicks 110-104.

James would also have his hands full against the Cavs’ defensive tandem of Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland. The pair has averaged 43 points per game thus far, and they are each shooting 50 percent or better from the field.

Though he figures to play a minor role for the Lakers, NBA fans will nonetheless be looking forward to his first game in Cleveland for the same reason his professional debut was so highly anticipated.

It will be a great moment for LeBron to play with his son against one of his old teams, especially the team he is probably most closely associated with from a historical standpoint.
