Halloween is finally here and the main things to discuss include the timing of the rain and how windy it will be today.

The morning will start cloudy and warm with temperatures in the mid 60s. Showers will move from the west to the east by the afternoon. This first rain shower will be the heaviest we see of the day and this is also the time when we may hear isolated rumblings of thunder. Widespread showers will continue until 4pm. After 4pm, any remaining rain will be patchy and light. After 8 p.m., any remaining rain will be isolated. Basically, we still have a chance of showers during trick-or-treating hours, but it will only be a passing shower that won’t last long. It won’t be a flop tonight!

WIND PROBLEMS
The wind will be quite noticeable today! We will observe the highest wind speeds of the day between 10am and 2pm. Then the wind will come from the southwest at speeds of 30 to 40 km per hour, with gusts of up to 70 km per hour. The wind dies down a bit as we head into the evening hours for Trick or Treating, but I still call it breezy weather. The wind will be from the southwest tonight at speeds of 10 to 20 km/h, with gusts up to 30 km/h.

After today’s cold front passes, it will be much cooler Friday and Saturday. But it also ensures that the forecast returns to normal! Friday we will see a high of 62 degrees with mostly sunny skies. Saturday will be mostly sunny and pleasant with a high of 64 degrees.
