Joe Rogan says he’s talked about doing podcasts with Kamala Harris

play

US mega-podcaster Joe Rogan said he had held talks with Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign to have the presidential candidate appear on his show, but he declined to travel to her for the episode.

Rogan, host of the popular show “The Joe Rogan Experience,” announced that the Democratic presidential candidate’s team agreed to an interview with him, but ultimately he was the one who said no.

The podcast host’s announcement comes just a week away from the 2024 presidential election and days after Rogan released a three-hour show with former President Donald Trump.

“For the record, the Harris campaign did not proceed with the podcast,” Rogan wrote in a social media post. “They offered a date for Tuesday, but I would have had to travel to her and they only wanted to do an hour. I’m convinced the best way to do that is in the studio in Austin.”

However, Rogan said he hopes to speak with Harris in the future.

“My sincere wish is to just have a nice conversation and get to know her as a person,” Rogan wrote. “I really hope we can make it happen.”

According to Spotify, Rogan’s show is the top podcast with 14.5 million followers.

USA TODAY has reached out to the Harris campaign for comment.

On Tuesday, several media reported that Trump’s running mate JD Vance will appear on Rogan’s show on Wednesday.

Trump traveled to Texas for a meeting with Rogan

Last week, Trump traveled to Texas for a sit-down interview on Rogan’s podcast in his studio.

The former president recorded a nearly three-hour interview with Rogan on Friday, in which he discussed everything from extraterrestrial aliens and life on Mars to election interference and foreign policy.

Rogan, who previously expressed support for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s presidential campaign. when he was still running as an independent, said at one point on the podcast, “I think it’s a great idea to work with Robert Kennedy.” Kennedy dropped out earlier this year and endorsed Trump.

The hour-long interview also included Trump’s repeated concerns that the “enemy from within” poses a more dangerous threat to the country than foreign governments, as well as an exchange about the former president’s debunked claims that the 2020 election was stolen.
