The Los Angeles Dodgers, who won the World Series championship on Wednesday, will celebrate the title Friday with a parade and a Dodger Stadium event.

Dodgers parade time

The victory parade will begin at 11 a.m. at Gloria Molina Grand Park at 200 N. Spring St. in front of City Hall, according to the Dodgers’ official Major League Baseball website.

The parade is a free public event, so there are no tickets required (unlike the Dodgers Stadium event afterward).

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass will officially kick off the team’s celebration, according to the site. The Dodgers will travel the 45-minute route on double-decker buses. They travel from 1st Street to Grand Avenue and arrive at 5th Street. The parade ends at the intersection of 5th Street and Flower Street.

Fans are “strongly encouraged” to take public transportation due to limited public parking and street closures, according to the website.

After the parade, another celebration will take place at Dodger Stadium, 1000 Vin Scully Ave., around 12:15 p.m.

Tickets are being sold for this event, and the team’s official account on X wrote that “it will not be feasible for fans to attend both the parade and the Dodger Stadium event.”

For event attendees, parking gates open at 8:30 a.m. and stadium entrance gates open at 9 a.m., according to the team’s postseason ticket site. Without an event ticket there is no access to the parking lot. Fans who do not pre-pay for parking must present event tickets at the gates to enter the parking lot.

There will be merchandise and food for sale. Before the team arrives, the stadium will have parade coverage on scoreboards and other entertainment.

Dodger Stadium guidelines and rules apply to the event, including not bringing any signs, bags or items that are not permitted. A portion of the proceeds from the stadium event will be donated to the Los Angeles Dodger Foundation, the team’s charitable organization.

Will the events be televised?

The parade and event are televised. Coverage begins at 9:30 a.m. on Los Angeles channels CBS 2, NBC 4, KTLA 5, ABC 7, KCAL 9 and Fox 11. It will also be on SportsNet LA and radio station AM 570.

Why does this happen?

The Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees in the World Series on Wednesday, 7-6 in New York. The team lost 5-0 in the fifth inning before roaring back to win their fourth game in a seven-game series.

The Yankees won game four 11-4 on Tuesday to extend the series.

Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman was named Most Valuable Player of the World Series, hitting four home runs and 12 RBIs. He also hit a walk-off grand slam in the 10th inning of the first game to win it for the Dodgers.
