Police shoot man at shuttered Lakemill Lodge in downtown Reno | Local news

Police shot a man at the shuttered Lakemill Lodge in downtown Reno.

The suspect was transported to a reputable regional medical center with unknown injuries.

Police say they responded around 6:30 a.m. Thursday to a report of a man with a gun who then barricaded himself in the empty building.

At some point, SWAT was called in to assist and some sort of altercation occurred when the shooting occurred.

So far, the identity of the suspect has not been released.

According to police, no officers were injured.

Health inspectors locked down the property Wednesday after drug use and human waste was found in common areas.

Lakemill Lodge will remain closed until these areas are cleaned and then cleared by Northern Nevada Public Health and the City of Reno.
