‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ gets release date for Disney+ streaming

“Deadpool & Wolverine,” one of the biggest movies of the year, will finally be available to stream at home on Disney+ on November 12.

The news was revealed in a sizzle reel posted by Marvel on Wednesday that revealed next year’s TV slate, which includes live-action series “Daredevil: Born Again,” “Ironheart” and “Wonder Man” and animated series “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,” “Eyes of Wakanda” and “Marvel Zombies.”

The superhero film starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman is the second highest-grossing film of 2024 and earned a whopping $1.3 billion worldwide. It recently surpassed “Barbie” ($636.2 million) to become the 12th highest-grossing North American release in history. It also ranks as the highest-grossing R-rated film ever.

Directed by Shawn Levy (“Free Guy,” “Night at the Museum”), the film follows Reynolds’ Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, whose peaceful existence comes crashing down when the Time Variance Authority interferes in his life. He soon makes enemies with Wolverine (Jackman) to save his world from a multiversal threat. It is the first Marvel Cinematic Universe entry headlined by comic book characters previously licensed to 20th Century Fox, which was acquired by the Walt Disney Company in 2019.
