Trump fantasizes about putting Liz Cheney in front of a firing squad

Donald Trump fantasized about former Rep. Liz Cheney being shot at a campaign event in Arizona.

“She’s a radical war hawk. Let’s put her there with a gun while nine barrels shoot her, okay?’ Trump told Tucker Carlson this Thursday evening. “Let’s see how she feels about, you know, having the guns pointed at her face.”

“They’re all war hawks if they sit in a nice building in Washington and say, ‘Oh boy, let’s send 10,000 troops straight into the enemy’s mouth,’” he said of his critics.

Cheney — who has campaigned alongside Vice President Kamala Harris as one of the former president’s most outspoken Republican opponents — responded to the comments Friday morning.

“This is how dictators destroy free nations,” she wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “They threaten those who speak out against them with death. We cannot entrust our country and our freedom to a petty, vengeful, cruel, unstable man who wants to be a tyrant.”

In the final weeks of the campaign, Trump has increasingly expressed fascist rhetoric while threatening his political opponents. Earlier this month, he suggested that “radical left-wing lunatics… the enemy from within… should be dealt with very easily, if necessary, by the National Guard, or, if really necessary, by the military.”

Cheney is not the only Republican to publicly warn that Trump will rule in an authoritarian manner. Former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly recently stated that the former president meets the definition of a fascist, and as president has repeatedly expressed a desire to have generals as loyal to him as Hitler’s.

As previously reported by Rolling stone, ahead of his 2024 campaign Trump repeatedly asked his closest advisers how they felt about bringing back firing squads as a method of execution.

The (former) president believes this would help instill the fear of God in violent criminals,” a source said Rolling stone. “He wanted to do some of these things when he was in office, but for whatever reason he didn’t get the chance.”

With his latest attack on Cheney, it appears that Trump is not only fantasizing about ruling over a group of blindly loyal military leaders, but also thinking about how exactly he might use them.
