Turnout is approaching or exceeding 45% across the region on this final day of early voting

Early voting turnout now approaches or exceeds 45% in most Southeast Texas counties.

JEFFERSON COUNTY EARLY VOTING

As of Thursday evening, the 11th day of early voting for the November election, 65,898 voters had cast ballots in Jefferson County, according to the Jefferson County Clerk’s Office.

The total includes 62,735 in-person ballots and 3,163 mail-in ballots. The highest turnout is in Rogers Park with a total of 16,088 votes, followed by Hughes Public Library with 9,070, the Theodore Johns Library with 6,452 and the Hebert Library with 5,589.

The number of registered voters in Jefferson County is 147,718. Turnout to date is 44.4% of registered voters.

There are 11 early voting locations in Jefferson County. Early voting runs until November 1. Voting is possible from Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm

The elections are Tuesday, November 5.

ORANGE COUNTY EARLY VOTING

In Orange County, 26,605 people had voted through Thursday, including 25,685 in person, 849 absentee by mail, 65 restricted ballots and 6 provisional ballots.

Orange County has 56,303 registered voters. The turnout is 45%.

Early voting continues Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all four locations, including the Orange Public Library, Raymond Gould Community Center, Orange County Airport and Mauriceville Community Center.

HARDIN COUNTY EARLY VOTING

Hardin County Judge Wayne McDaniel says 20,560 voters had cast ballots through Friday morning, a 46.4% turnout. That includes 20,111 in-person votes and 449 absentee ballots. The record for early votes in 2020 is 21,234.

Early voting continues Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all four locations, including the Hardin County Courthouse from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Silsbee City Hall, Lumberton City Hall and the Sour Lake Community Center , all from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. .

JASPER COUNTY EARLY VOTING

In Jasper County, 11,705 people voted Thursday evening. That includes 11,392 in-person and 313 absent. The turnout is approximately 49%.

There are no challenging races at the local level in Jasper, Newton, Sabine or Tyler County.

TYLER COUNTY EARLY VOTE

In Tyler County, 6,298 voters had cast early ballots as of Friday afternoon. That includes 6,074 in-person and 224 absent. That’s about 40% of registered voters in Tyler County.

Early voting in Tyler County will take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Friday at the Nutrition Center on Willow in Woodville.
