WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5:00 PM FRIDAY – KQEN News Radio

November 1, 2024 4:10 am

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for southern Oregon mountain areas above 5,000 feet until Friday at 5 p.m.

National Weather Service forecasters say heavy snow is expected with additional accumulations between 6 and 12 inches. The wind can reach up to 45 kilometers per hour.

The warning area includes the South-Central Oregon Cascades, Southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains. It applies to Crater Lake National Park, Diamond Lake and highways 230, 62 and 138, as well as Highway 58 at Willamette Pass.

Forecasters said travel could be very difficult or impossible. Strong winds can cause tree branches to come down.

Those who must travel should keep an extra flashlight, food and water in their vehicle in case of an emergency. For the most current road information, visit www.tripcheck.com
