NFL Scores, Live Updates: Lions take on Packers in huge showdown in NFC North

The NFC North takes center stage in the NFL world in Week 9 as the Detroit Lions head to Green Bay to take on the Packers. The winner takes the lead in the division, and in Detroit’s case, they will move up with a virtual two-game lead in the division if they win the first game. The Lions have reeled off five straight wins and lit up the scoreboard with more than 40 points three times in their last three games, highlighted by a 52-14 drubbing of the Tennessee Titans last Sunday.

The Packers are also popular, having won four straight, but there were questions at quarterback leading up to this week’s game. Jordan Love sat out last week’s win over Jacksonville with a groin injury, but returned to practice on Thursday. He was cleared to play on Sunday, so Malik Willis will once again be his backup.

(Bye: Steelers, 49ers)

Live18 updates

  • Seahawks score after Nacua’s ejection

The Seahawks took full advantage of a terrible end to the half by the Rams. Geno just found Smith-Njigba for their second touchdown in the final minute of the half, and suddenly the Seahawks are up 13-3.

  • Puka Nacua was sent off for throwing a punch

Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua was ejected just before halftime in Seattle. After an interception by Matthew Stafford, Nacua threw a punch.

  • Seahawks finally find the end zone

Finally we have a touchdown in Seattle. Geno Smith just hit Tyler Lockett to give the Seahawks the lead before halftime.

The Seahawks just intercepted Matthew Stafford as well.

  • Jordan Love with a terrible pick-6 for Kirby Joseph

This one could be caused by Love’s inability to move as he wants due to the groin injury, but it’s just an incredibly bad call, and Kirby Joseph’s sixth interception in the league is a Lions touchdown, and Detroit now stands with 17-3 ahead. .

  • The Cardinals are in control against the Bears

Arizona is quietly hovering around .500 and can move to 5-4 with a win over Chicago and stay tied in the NFC playoff picture. It appears they are now on their way after Emari DeMercado’s 53-yard touchdown put the Cardinals up 21-9 at the end of the first half.

  • Saquon Barkley, AGAIN!

A 3rd and 17 tie is often a safety call to get into better position for a field goal or punt. But apparently Saquon Barkley doesn’t really like kicking, or what in this case would have been a field goal attempt. He has another multi-scoring game today against Jacksonville, and Philadelphia heads into halftime with a three-point lead.

  • Trey Benson gets his first NFL score to extend Cardinals lead

The rookie running back gave the Cardinals an eight-point lead.

  • Lions Brian Branch ejected for hit on Bo Melton

Branch was flagged for a personal foul on the play, and replay officials in New York decided he would be ejected for the hit. And as he was leaving the field, Branch was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct and the two 15-yard penalties gave Green Bay 30 yards of open field position.

  • Josh Jacobs is having a great first half

He has all but a touchdown with 6:30 left in the second quarter. Jacobs already has over 100 yards on the game.

  • Josh Jacobs shows off the wheels in Green Bay

Early in the second quarter, Jacobs has already gone over 75 yards in terrible weather conditions in Green Bay.

  • Seriously, how could the Giants have let this guy go?

  • Lions get on the board on a fourth-down gamble

Detroit got inside the Green Bay 5-yard line and on a fourth down, Jared Goff hit Amon-a St. Brown for the score. The Lions have now scored touchdowns on each of their last eight trips inside the red zone.

  • Tight Arizona rushing touchdown

Trey McBride gets the Cardinals on the board first with a touchdown run. Not only is it his first career rushing touchdown, it’s also the first rushing of his NFL career. Not bad coming out of National Tight End Day last week.

  • Saquon Barkley gets Philly on the board first

In their hip Kelly Green throwbacks, the Philadelphia Eagles are first on the board against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It is his seventh touchdown of the season.
