Rams’ Puka Nacua was ejected for hitting Seahawks’ Tyrel Dodson

Puka Nacua’s time on the field ended early Sunday against the Seahawks.

Nacua was ejected in the second quarter of the Rams’ game against the Seahawks after hitting Seattle linebacker Tyrel Dodson in the waning seconds of the second quarter.

The incident occurred after a pass intended for Nacua was picked off by Seahawks corner Riq Woolen.

You could see Nacua get into a shoving match with Dodson and then you saw the wide receiver take a swing at Dodson and hit him in the helmet.

The referees caught the retaliation and Nacua was ejected from the match.

Nacua had one catch for 11 yards before being ejected and had been on the field for 26 of the Rams’ 30 offensive snaps.

The Seahawks were only down 6-3 when the altercation occurred, leading to Seattle getting one last offensive opportunity before halftime.

Geno Smith was able to connect with Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 24-yard touchdown pass that sent the Seahawks into the locker room with a 13-3 lead at halftime.

The Rams ultimately won a thriller, 26-20 in overtime, when Matthew Stafford connected with Demarcus Robinson for a walk-off touchdown.

Nacua had missed five weeks of the year due to a knee injury and was placed on IR, which he came off in Week 8.

There was some concern over whether Nacua would play this week after leaving Thursday’s training due to a knee problem.

Nacua hurt the knee on the ground but was eventually cleared to play in this week’s match.

The wide receiver is one of the Rams’ top weapons and that was evident in his first game in Week 8, when he had 106 yards on seven catches in the Thursday Night Football showdown with the Vikings.

The Rams will play the Dolphins next week on “Monday Night Football.”
